Our Kailash Mahatirtha Yatra to the forbidden kingdom begins with a sweeping flight to Lhasa- "Roof of the World". Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world, a towering 3,760 meters on the banks of the Lhasa River. In Lhasa, you will be visiting interesting places like the busy markets of Barkhor, Jokhong Monastery, Sera Monastery, Drepung Temple monasteries, and Potala Palace, official residence of Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibetans.

Lhasa is also good for acclimatised with climate and culture. After Lhasa our Kailash Mahatirtha Yatra proceeds further through the famed city of Gyantse, Shigatse and finally reach Mt.Kailash. Mt. Kailash is a compelling, dome-shaped peak, rising above a desolately beautiful 13,000 ft plateau of rainbow-coloured rocks. It is holiest of all holy peaks revered by millions of Hindus, Jain and Buddhists as the abode of Lord Shiva. This peak is the earthly manifestation of Mount Sumeru or Meru, as it is also known. Sumeru is believed to be the axis of the universe. All these factors make this mountain a very special spot in this universe enshrined with great grandeur.

This Kailash Mahatirth Yatra ends with a holy pilgrimage walk around Mt. Kailash and holy dip at Lake Mansarovar. You will be driven back to Kathmandu via the Tibet-Nepal frontier town of Zhangmu and Kodari with enchanting views of Tibetan valley across the high Himalayas.
